Thank you for choosing Immortal Art! Proper aftercare is essential for healing your new tattoo and ensuring it stays bold, vibrant, and beautiful for years to come. Please follow the instructions below carefully.

📦 Immediately After Your Tattoo

  • Your artist will clean your tattoo and apply a bandage or Saniderm/medical wrap to protect it from bacteria and irritation.

  • Leave the bandage on for 4–6 hours, unless otherwise instructed. If you're using a second-skin wrap (like Saniderm), it may be left on for up to 24–48 hours.

🧼 When Removing the Bandage

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.

  2. Gently remove the bandage. If it sticks, wet it slightly with warm water to loosen.

  3. Wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free antibacterial soap (such as Dial or Dr. Bronner’s unscented).

  4. Do not scrub—use your hand (not a washcloth or sponge).

  5. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Avoid using cloth towels which may harbor bacteria.

💧 Moisturizing

  • After your tattoo is dry, apply a thin layer of a tattoo-approved aftercare product such as:

    • Mad Rabbit

    • Hustle Butter

    • Fragrance-free lotion (like Lubriderm or Aveeno)

  • Do not over-apply. Your skin needs to breathe to heal properly.

🔄 Ongoing Care (First 2–3 Weeks)

  • Clean your tattoo 1–2 times a day and reapply a thin layer of moisturizer after each wash.

  • Your tattoo will scab or peel—this is normal. Do not scratch or pick at the area.

  • Avoid excessive rubbing or tight clothing over the tattooed area.

  • Do not soak the tattoo (no swimming, baths, or hot tubs).

  • Avoid direct sunlight and do not apply sunscreen until the tattoo is fully healed.

☀️ After It’s Healed

  • Apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) whenever your tattoo is exposed to the sun to prevent fading.

  • Continue moisturizing regularly to keep your skin and ink healthy.

🚨 What to Watch For

Contact your artist or a medical professional if you notice:

  • Excessive redness or swelling after 48 hours

  • Pus or yellow/green discharge

  • Severe itching, rashes, or allergic reactions

  • A fever or chills (these may indicate an infection)
